Hans-Peter KüchlerSubject: SS4 build88: remarks on Sense:X

Hi, I have some problems with Sense:X.
First of all, is it possible to disable the yellow hint tool tip windows with the parameter format for functions separately? These boxes changes the way the ENTER key works with Sense:X. Without the yellow box on the screen the ENTER key selects the highlighted item from the Sense:X menu. With such a box on the screen the ENTER key doesn't select the item but closes first the yellow hint tool tip window. I have to press ENTER twice to select the item. Btw. the yellow window doesn't disappear if I press CTRL+F6 to change the active window!

Second I don't understand, why the Sense:X menu appears while I'm writing some text into a string constant? See the following example: I wish to write
<xsl:if test="@item='an item'">
But if I press the keys on the keyboard in the desired order, Sense:X makes the following text:
<xsl:if test="@item='ancestor-or-self:: item'">
because after pressing a an n (for the word an) Sense:X selects with the space key after the word 'an' the ancestor-or-self:: axis. Imho Sense:X should be closed if the cursor is between the single quotes for a string constant.

Third I think, the Sense:X menu should disappear if I press the left or the right cursor key while writing. If I have to change only some characters in existing text, moving the cursor with the left or right key indicates that the current work on the actual cursor position has finished and its time for Sense:X to disappear. Especially because the effect after selection an item from the Sense:X menu is not very helpful. Example: I wish to write
<xsl:if test="starts-with
But I forgot the character a
<xsl:if test="strts-with
I move the cursor to the left between the characters t and r. Sense:X highlighted the function starts-with. Oh good, only press ENTER an all is fine! But after ENTER the text looks like this:
<xsl:if test="starts-withrts-with
Now I've to do much more than without Sense:X.

Fourth, is it possible to disable the dynamic sorting of the Sense:X menu. Example: I wish to use the function string-length(). First time I have to press the keys 's' 't' 'r' 'cursor down' 'enter'. Five keys to write the function. But if I've used the function string() before I have to press 's' 't' 'r' 'i' 'n' 'g' '-' 'enter'. In other context I have to press a third combination and so on. That's why I hope, you can disable the dynamic sort feature.

No, there isn't a way to disable it in the current version.

You have raised a number of good points here; we'll work on all of them as
soon as possible.

Thanks,
Minollo

I agree about the dynamic sorting on the Sense:X being a pain. I regularly use a combination of substring, substring-after and substring-before to do string extractions but the dynamic-sorting of Sense:X makes this really tedious.
