John HowardSubject: Debugging java in 3.1-69u
Author: John Howard

Hi, Just a couple of bugs... - some variables are missing from the variables window. I've never had a _ prefixed variable appear, but I've also lost some that don't have _ prefixes. - an attempt to step into code that has not been compiled with -g causes the CPU to flatline. IDE must then be killed manually. - after JPDA connection to a VM on localhost, breakpoints can be set (JPDA stuff appears in the output window) but the VM won't stop. Restarting the VM and the IDE usually solves the problem. Sorry if these belong in a bug forum. cheers, john

Oops, sorry about omitting my platform information:

I'm debugging Apache JServ2.0 servlets on Windows2000 (SP2 256MB Ram) with JDK 1.3.1

Sorry, I can't try your 4.0beta right now - sometime soon though!

john
