Albert WallaceSubject: node/attribute counter

I have a requirement to supply the number of attributes for each node in the output of the transformation from an XML to EDI document. programmatically, this is pretty straight forward but I'm having a hard time grasping the concept in XSLT. Any thoughts?

Is there some reason why you can't use:

count(@*)

which will count the number of attributes on the context node.
