The horisontal scrollbar in the text view seems to have no "binding" to the line length. Even with a file with 10 characters, it still displays and scrolls endlessly.

You are correct; the problem has been fixed in the codebase of the new
version which will be available in a couple of months; but we haven't
back-ported the fix to 3.1

Let me check if back-porting the fix is feasible; if it is, we'll do that
shortly.

This bug should have been fixed in bl69g. Can you try updating your copy of
Stylus from http://www.stylusstudio.com/update ?
