Dan MaloneySubject: Help System Crash v3.1
Author: Dan Maloney

I just downloaded and registered the 90 day eval copy of Stylus Studio. After starting the program I went to Help -> About Stylus Studio and got an unrecoverable error dialog box asking me to send the log file to this address.

Dan,
the log file is puzzling; it looks like you got a crash inside an MFC
library, kind-of unrelated to the Help|About action you performed...

Are you running Windows NT? What SP? Have you been prompted to reboot the
machine after you have installed Stylus Studio? If so, have you done that?

Thanks,
Minollo

FYI,
Dan and I exchanged a few emails on this topic; it looks like the
problem was related to the status of the JVM installation on Dan's machine:
for some reason the rt.jar file in his 1.2.2 installation had been moved to
rt.jar_

We are now working to make sure that in the future Stylus Studio doesn't
have any kind of problems (other than being unable to use the JVM...) when
the Java installation is broken.

Thanks Dan for your help!
Minollo
