A colleague has generated some xsl that end up putting large amounts of white space at the start of the output xml. any ideas as to where it might be coming from.

I would guess they are coming from the input XML document.
If you believe this is an incorrect behavior (i.e. other processors do not
output the same whitespaces), please send us a testcase, and we'll look
into it.

Thanks,
Minollo

There was a regression in whitespace handling in Beta 3 and Beta 4; it is
now fixed in BL63e, available on:
http://download.exceloncorp.com/downloads/studio/iftw_beta/stylus%20studio.htm

You will now still note a few empty lines at the top of the generated XML
file, but those are correctly generated from the processing of your XML
document (the newline after the bat:Batch element, and the newlines/tabs in
around the comments at the end of the PurchaseOrder elements).
Compared to Xalan-J, we are now generating the same kind of ws items at the
beginning of the XML result.

Thanks for reporting this,
Minollo
