Kimball JohnsonSubject: Enable Selecting installation folder
Author: Kimball Johnson
Date: 20 Oct 2012 10:41 PM
FYI: there are many corporate environments (potentially large customer bases) who use relatively primative methods for managing the types of programs that can be installed by users on their networks.

This has an adverse effect on developer exposure to programs outside of the default MS or Oracle developer tool licensing. (IBM presenting null differential due to Eclipse.)

One of these mechanisms is restriction to local admin access, another is restriction of access to the programs folder.

If you would enable your installer to provide a user choice of where your application was installed, you would dramatically increase the number of corporate developer users who utilized your free trial as a work-around solution for these kinds of problems.

This will significantly increase your exposure to corporate development teams and expand your market quite nicely.

(Of course you would do well to increase your trial period to 30 days.)

If you elect to follow this marketing recommendation, please send a commission check equal to 1% of monthly revenue from this market channel to Hammer Systems at PO Box 7099, 91365, USA.

Thanks in advance.
