Yoram AizenbergSubject: Xml diff tool bug/configuration issue/requested feature.
Author: Yoram Aizenberg

Enclosed a snap shoot bugOrderOfsubSectionParagraphWasChanged.JPG.
Both files are identical except a change in the order of the subSectionParagraph entities.
Both entities are still under the same parent entity.
No change in the content of the entities.
The tool thinks it is a diff.
Is there a way to configure the tool to see these entries as identical?

Hi Yoram,
in XML the order of child elements is important, so XMLDiff treats it as a difference, and doesn't expose an option to ignore it.

Hi Alberto.
Thank u for the quiqe response.

Although this is probabely the correct Xml beheviour, we have a special need.

We want to Ignore the order of elements in a sequence.
Elements in a sequence are same if their attributes are same.

Can Sylus make for us this feature, as a professional service?

Yoram.

I have found this discussion chain which addresses a problem that I am trying to overcome. Software being implemented here uses XML configuration files which are imported / exported from that software to implement the changes. However when the files are exported the order is not the same, has this issue been addressed as the last I see on it was from Mar 08 ....
