Simon CoxSubject: Updating custom validation engines
Author: Simon Cox

Stylus Studio is supplied with 5 "custom validation engines" in addition the builtin one.
These external validation engines are installed magically as part of the IDE install (thanks).
But they are not necessarily the latest versions of some of the engines - e.g. Xerces-J and (as of today) XSV.

Would it be possible for you to provide step by step instructions about how to upgrade the versions?
You guys clearly know how to do it ... while it is a bit of a struggle for me (first time, anyway).

The next release of Stylus will have XSV 2.8 packaged with it.

We would like to include the Xerces-J 2.6.2 natively, except some
of the other software we include already only works with the older
2.5.1 release. We chose to hold off updating, rather than include
a third release of Xerces-J in our product (we already ship yet
another even older release, to support FOP).
