Dexter ParungaoSubject: XLS (MS Excel) to XML Converter
Author: Dexter Parungao

I'm familiar with how to create Xquery files using CSV and flat files (I've utilize the CSV XML converter and have created custom converters for flat files.)

When my source document is in excel, I usually convert into CSV before loading into Stylus.

Is there a way to load Excel documents into stylus and use an XML converter?

Thanks

Hi Dexter,

Which version of Excel?

If you are working with the new .xlsx format, Stylus Studio 2010 has built-in support for it.

See "Working with Zip Archive Format Files as Data Sources", chapter 11

A useful blog entry can be found here

Hope this helps

Thanks Ivan! I eventually landed on this blog referencing xquery for excel 2003, as well.

Would you happen to know if there is a stylus video demo available?

I'm more familiar with the mapping interface and don't quite know how to manipulate the xml code to get a version I can work with.
