faccio romainSubject: Xquery and Web Service Caller
Author: faccio romain

I made it work fine on a simple web service function that return the last data stored in a table.

I see also that is possible to pass parameters to a web service function via a scenario, and it works, no pb.

My question is how to change the parameter of a scenario by programmation. I want to call a web service function with a date as parameter. I don't want to make a scenario for each date.

Thanks for your help!
R

Hi Romain,
even if your title has the "XQuery" keyword in it, it seems to me that your question is only about how to invoke programmatically a web service. In this case, the answer depends on the web service client you decide to use (MSSOAP, .NET, Axis-C, Axis-J...). Have a look at the examples that your ws client provides.

Hope this helps,
Alberto

It seems that my question was not clear.

I have in stylus a xquery program that use a web service caller as data source.
This web service caller use a fonction with a date as parameter.

Is it possible to pass to the web caller service for exemple the today date each time I execute my xquery instead of create a scenario for each date?

Or do I have to pass throught a java program?

Hi Romain,
sorry for the late answer. Yes, in XQuery you can use the function current-date() to get the date of when the XQuery is being executed (as well as current-time() and current-dateTime() )

Hope this helps,
Alberto
