hi, i am currently investigating the crossover between Xquery and SQL and was wondering if there is an xquery equivalent to UPDATE, INSERT and DELETE.
any help would be gratefully recieved

XQuery is currently only a query language (i.e. it does only SELECTs);
there are plans to extend it with update capabilities, but those will be
tackled only after XQuery has been published as a recommended spec.
