SSDN AdminSubject: DataBase Trends and Applications Reports about Stylus Studio 6 XML Enterprise Edition
Author: SSDN Admin

DBTA Magazine covers various Data Integration Topics such as the Seamless Information Infrastructure, New Trends in Analytics
Escaping the Data Stovepipe, Best of Breed vs. the Suites, Enterprise Applications: Success and Failure, Data Warehouses: Will They Ever Deliver?, etc. Here's what they reported about the recent release of Stylus Studio 6 XML Enterprise Edition:

DataDirect Technologies, a provider of XML tools for advanced data integration, announced Stylus Studio 6 XML Enterprise Edition Release 3, the newest edition of Stylus Studio XML IDE. The release includes new tools for Java code generation, EDI/EDIFACT document conversion, and XQuery application development. "There's a real need for these kinds of tools," Larry Kim, XML product manager, DataDirect, told 5 Minute Briefing in an exclusive interview.

According to the company, Stylus Studio 6 XML Enterprise Edition is the world's most comprehensive tool for advanced XML data integration products. "There's a real lack of choice--and it's problematic," Kim said. "A lot of technologies have failed due to lack of adequate tool support."

The new edition of Stylus Studio allows software developers and integration architects to generate code for XQuery and XSLT stylesheets and deploy that code to a live production server or application. It also captures the settings specified in the XQuery and XSLT scenarios--the choice of XML processor, parameters, input/output files, and post-processing options, for example--and reflects them in the generated Java code. "Now, with the click of a button, you can generate all the Java code to make that query work in your program or server application. So it's a really big time saver," noted Kim.

Stylus Studio is the first XML IDE to fully support the W3C XQuery working draft of April 2005. "In our pioneering work in the XQuery field--we're light years ahead," commented Kim. "We're committed to providing a very robust, comprehensive tool suite for XML and XQuery," and the market response is positive, he said. For more information, go to http://www.stylusstudio.com.
