When using XSLT to map from my XML document to my Schema, I'm getting the a: added to the beginning tag...any way to prevent this?

Your target schema has a target namespace, the mapping tool has to define a namespace prefix to bind the appropriate namespace and to generate the appropriate XML shape.

Hope this helps
