Eric ByrnesSubject: Surround SCM integration
Author: Eric Byrnes

I am trying to integrate SS X14 with Surround SCM 2012.0.0 (latest version), which provides a SCCI-compatible interface. SS X14 sees the Surround SCM SCCI provider in the 'Choose Provider' dropdown, but in SCM properties, it shows version 0.0 and no SCM operations work (but no errors either). Is there a trick to this? Since SS X14 sees the provider, I'm hoping its not a major stretch to get this to work; ideally just putting the right info in the 'Source Code Control Properties' window, setting paths or something similar. Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks,

Eric

Hi Eric,

We have been testing the Surround SCM SCCI provider and the results are not encouraging. The library does not seem to load correctly.

Were you able to use the provider in other IDE?

We will keep you posted if we make progress on the topic.

The provider works fine in Visual Studio. I did notice that within SS I occasionally get an error dialog window that seems to relate to this: Title "Struzzo.exe - System Error", Text "The program can't start because QtCoreSeapineSCM4.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem". The DLL it is referring to is on the path in the Surround SCM directory. The error appears when doing an 'Add File to Project'. Clicking OK to dismiss the error allows me to continue normally within SS.
