Martyn SmithSubject: Problem Registering Old Version
Author: Martyn Smith

We should own 3 licenses for Stylus Studio (admittedly an old version - version 4.5) and I've just had to reinstall. Unfortunately clicking on "Register" during install simply takes me to a screen which displays "page not found".

Is there any way I can re-register my version to use it?

Hi Martin,

Version 4.5 is no more supported.

Please contact our Sales Team at stylusstudio@stylusstudio.com
I am sure they will find a way to help you upgrade to the latest version.

Ivan

This gives me a problem - I can't recommend to my boss buying a new version if I can't show the limitations in the version we currently own. Which I can't do - the software won't run without registration and the site is no longer available.

The fact that I can not longer use the software that the college owns because it can't be registered is going to get me a straight response telling me to look elsewhere for a piece of software that doesn't do this next time. My boss simply won't want to be caught out buying a piece of software that the college is prevented from using when support no longer becomes available because of a licensing issue.

In any case, if I don't purchase support on a product it shouldn't prevent me using what I've bought unless it is bought on some kind of lease - which it wasn't.

Thanks
Martyn

Hi Martin,

Version 4.5 was published on September 2002 (http://xml.coverpages.org/eXcelonStylusStudio45.html). If your team has been using the software for the last 4 years, they should quickly realize how much Stylus Studio has evolved. We have many video tutorials that demonstrate features for XQuery, XSLT, Web services, flat file (EDI, CSV, etc.) conversion to XML, and more. Take a look here: http://www.stylusstudio.com/xml_video_list.html

Having said that, we will try our best to reactivate Version 4.5, or we will provide you with some other alternative. In any event, we won't leave you in the lurch.

Please provide our sales team with the original proof of purchase and we'll get the ball rolling.

Thanks!
Ivan Pedruzzi
