Gene GeneSubject: Explanation to the nature of our inquires

Alberto,
Stylus studio is one of the forerunners that we are considering to recommend to some of our clients as additions/enhancements to their current technologies.
Making general inquires, similar to the ones I am posting, is the first round of our research. Certain questions, which might seem to be simple and basic to you folks, would require a research (even a tiny one) on our part. For us, to post these is not a waste of time by any means! It is a more time efficient approach to evaluate the candidate products. I am sorry if it adds a big overhead to your team.
If all preliminary bullet points that we posted got a “YES” or a “+” – we would certainly want to proceed with further, in-depth, hands-on evaluation. But for the time being, it would not be very time-wise for us to download 4 to 6 trial versions from different vendors and poke around with them.
Willingness and readiness to reply to ours and our clients’ future inquires (phone, email, on-line forum) is one of the major criteria that we are taking into account. And this is not just with regards to purely technical questions. In fact, my original attempt to get a hold of other Sonic Software areas that handle different issues, other then technical, STILL channeled me to this forum. Were there phone numbers / emails available to handle different issues, we would certainly take advantage of them.
Kind regards,
Gene.

Gene,
if all people trying to understand if Stylus Studio is worth being evaluated asked as many questions as you are asking, Stylus Studio wouldn't exist at all, as we would end up spending all time answering those questions. One thing are pre-sales questions, or support questions; here we are talking about pre-evaluation questions, and that's beyond what we can afford doing.

Stylus Studio developers are more than happy to help users who evaluate and/or purchase the software; they also often go beyond that, answering general XML, XSLT, XML Schema, XQuery and DTD questions. While I understand that reading web pages on http://www.stylusstudio.com or trying to use the software can be a time consuming task, there is no doubt that you will never get all answers to your questions unless you do that, and you would share some of the investigation effort that you are trying to put only on us.

If you have sales oriented questions, feel free to contact stylusstudio@stylusstudio.com directly, also reachable at 781-280-4295.

Thanks for your cooperation,
Minollo
