Subject:WSDL URL REFERENCING Author:Rohan Priya Date:22 Feb 2005 07:04 AM
Hi ,
I created a simple web service to accept name and display the same ,
i tested the same with a .NET application it works fine. For the stylus studio
when referencing the WSDL URL for the web service it enables me to give only
a physical path i.e., c:\inetpub\wwwroot\testapp\web references\localhost\Service1.wsdl ,
it does not allow me to reference the WSDL with a http:// request.
Kindly help.
Thanks,
Ann

Hi Ivan ,
It was with reference to the first mail I had sent regarding when referencing
the wsdl using a remote URL i..e, on the web . The problem I'm facing is
when I create a simple webservice and reference the same in a local ASP .NET
project it generates the WSDL file.I'm unble to reference the WSDL created in the
ASP.NET project using the http:// URL it only allows me to reference the same using the
file:// URL. Kindly guide me through.
With Thanks,
Ann
Try to use a different Webservice client to have a more accurate error report;
- click on the toolbar button “…”
- click on “Microsoft .NET”
- try to send the message again
The SOAP request generated should looks like this.
It seems correct according to the WSDL defintion

Hi Ivan ,
1. When referencing the local WSDL i.e., through http:\\localhost\mywebserviceforstylus\Service1.asmx?WSDL , it gives an
IO Error stating the connection with the server was terminated abnormally.
2. I'm not to sure about what is the XSLT mapping about. Can you give me
a case where you can really fit it in .
3. Can you discuss something on what is this create scenaio all about.
Its really URGENT !!!!
Thanks,
Ann

Is the HTTP server running on your machine?
Can you open the same URL in IE?

XSLT Mapper is code generator for building XML to XML tranformation

The Stylus Studio scenario is a way to configure properties per document.
All Stylus Studio tasks (XSLT, XQuery, Web Service Call, DB to XML, Convert to XML, XML Diffs) use the same metaphor

One idea - can you try it with forward slashes, like this http://...
Althought IE accepts either, only forward slashes are really supposed
to be used in http urls.
