pinak mengleSubject: Using the mapping utility to map between xsd
Author: pinak mengle

Hello

I am in the process of evaluating this tool for our Data Exchange project. We are planning to map pre-existing, pre-defined xml schema (3rd party) to a xml schema which will be generated from our DB2 UDB tables. By doing this we are hoping that the business analysts would be able to pull up the 2 schemas side-by-side, and then using drag-and-drop, do associations between the two.

I am having a tough time, creating a schema out of our DB2 tables. Here are the steps I am doing

1. Opening up a XSLT Mapper view.
2. In the Set Target Document > Select Relational DB > Select URL Builder > Give the connection parameters.
3. I see a list of databases, and tables.
4. I have to pick a table, as it does not allow me to select just the schema and all tables under it.

On selecting the table I get the following error.

Is there any help documentation, or How-Tos, that I can follow to get this in place. I have gone browsed all the documentation on the site , as well as the help bundled with the software. I am looking for more detailed steps, so that it will help us in coming to a decision about buying this tool.

Any help regarding the tool is highly appreciated.

Thanx

Pinak.

Pinak,

The URL builder is designed to reference a single table or view.
The table data is interpreted using the SQL/XML rules.

Regarding the error if you are not running the latest build,
could you please update?

Hope this helps
