Mitch BurghartSubject: Application Bug Error Reporting Difficult
Author: Mitch Burghart

If you want people to report bugs in the Stylus Studio product, you need to make reporting *much* simpler. I had to create a log in, log in, find where to post a message and then use a bad form to report a message. (It could be as simple as send an E-mail.) This user isn't going to bother reporting future bugs because it takes far too much time to do this.

Hi Mitch,
we appreciate that you took the time to report this crash; we hope that our
support will be worth your efforts, and make you change idea regarding your
future intentions.

We agree that the current situation is not optimal; but we like the idea
that all the users of Stylus can participate in a public forum, see the
reported bugs, the suggested workarounds and the notifications of the
update that fixes it. Unfortunately, the software running this board has
several limitations (one for all, it doesn't handle XML, so if you type
something between angle brackets, the browser will not display it, unless
you ask to see the HTML source of the message, or use the e-mail
notification feature).

Having said that, I think it's time we have another look at the error
reporting system....

Thanks for the feedback,
Alberto

Hi Alberto,

It's always struck me as particularly ironic that the WebBoard for some XML software (i.e. stylus) can't handle XML.
