Using the Stylus Studio you can create a XML input document and a XSL stylsheet with FO commands. You can view the result and if you want, you can print.
I will use Stylus for document generation in a Workflow system.
Is it possible to use a Stylus API who give me the possibility to print the formatted document directly without having stylus open.

Stylus Studio doesn't expose any API; what we could do is to enhance the
command line utility to make it possible to run a transformation, run the
FOP post-processing and print the result. Would that be helpful to you?

That will be an excellent idea. Creating the stylsheets will be done by StylusStudio. I can integrate the commandline inside my Workflow client and I have a extra selling argument if you arrange that.
I'm happy with this answer and I will wait for the change.

I'm adding this to our PCR list; it won't be part of 3.1 because we have
now been in feature freeze for a couple of weeks and we are preparing the
final package.
But we'll work on that in the next few weeks.

Hello Minnolo,
That direct printing is for my customer Philips an importing thing. We will use the software for creating reminder letters inside the Workflow Management Routing.
I will order the software and the implementation will be mid December. Can you help me with a little workarround for the time being so I can tell the customer that they make a right choice.

There isn't much I can do for you until we make the command line utility
able to post-process and print.
That will happen soon, and we should be able to give you an updated build
by the end of this month.
