Erich KilmerSubject: Tried the FO rendering part but don't see anything
Author: Erich Kilmer

It was with great interest that I downloaded your latest release. The FO rendering part and drag and drop from XML elements to XSL style sheet are great features. I am having some problem with the FO rendering part. I created and new XSL file and copied in an XSL that I have rendered in Cocoon 1 many times. When I try to preview the XSL result I get an error: "Warning: unknown formatting object ^. Error: null" although there are no carets that I can see.
I am using FO tags that still show up in orange. Does this make them unsupported and therefore un-renderable.
Again this file is one I run through Cocoon1. It has XSL tags and FO tags with XPATH Strings that show the path to particular elements in my XML.
Oh by the way I am also doing custom producer to get the XML from my db. Should I pull this out as well?
Thanks!

They are non-recognized by the editor, not by FOP.

The FO post-processing entirely relies on Apache FOP (I guess the output
you mentioned above is displayed in the gray "Output window"); and we are
bundling the latest version of FOP.
Is it possible for you to send us (or to my email address) a testcase?

I'm not sure I can parse this; can you expand the sentence?

Thanks,
Minollo

Thanks for the excellent help. That release fixed the problem. I now can see the PDF document rendered in Stylus. That is a great feature to use to build XSL style sheets, combined with XPATH into the XML document, and finally to see how it looks after going through FOP. If we definitely decide to use FOP this will be a most useful tool!
Erich
