(Deleted User) Subject: Fixing of Bugs and New Versions of Stylus
Author: (Deleted User)

I purchased Stylus 1.0 for $99 it sort of worked but did not support namespaces and some other things

So I purchased Stylus 2.0 $199 it sort of works and still does not support all the XSLT features, ( for example)

Now we have Stylus 3.0 being talked about. How much will it be. Will it do support all the standard and will there be an upgrade path for existing customers.

Stylus is a neat, simple, uncomplicated tool. All I ask is that it would work and then leave the complexity to some other product. I am nervous that the Studio product will remove the stand alone simple brother product behind?

Please alleviate my fears and respond to bug fixes with point release and not full releases. I think it is about time that your customers got a product that did what it says it would do.

Stylus Studio is a new product. There will be an upgrade path for existing
customers of Stylus 1.x and 2.x. The details of that will be released when
we officially launch Stylus Studio next quarter. There is very little code
in Stylus Studio borrowed from existing Stylus.

works just dandy in Studio 3.0. You even have a drop down menu
in properties to choose your output type which can handle this for you.

You can obtain Stylus Studio at http://www.exceloncorp.com/beta/studio.html.

Cheers,
Chris

I'll leave pricing and version information to product management.
From an engineering point of view, I can tell you that we are doing our
best to deliver you a product which does exactly what it says; if we fail
doing that, then it is our fault, and customers are right in looking
elsewhere for solutions.

My impression is that we are moving in a complex, unstable area, and that
bugs are part of (software?) life; I can only assure you that we are
committed to keep improving and fixing Stylus Studio. I think we are giving
you an idea of that with the level of responsiveness we are keeping on this
forum and with the amount of improvements you will find in beta 2, less
than one month after beta 1 was out.
